About IIRS Outreach Programme:


Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), unit of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India has started its Distance Learning Program in the year 2007. The distance learning program was started with the basic objective of creating awareness among students and working professionals in the areas of fundamentals and advanced concepts of Remote Sensing technology and its applications. Later, the programme was also extended to meet the training and capacity building requirements of user departments in Central and State government using online learning platforms.

The target participants include School students & teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, technical/ scientific staff of Central/ State Government, Faculty members and researchers of Academic Institutions, planner & decision makers and general public for awareness on geospatial technologies and its applications. lt is a unique opportunity for participants to learn directly from their place on fundamental and advanced concepts of Geo-information technology and its application.
The participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded a certificate from IIRS, ISRO.


Highlights:
  • The institute has so far conducted 72 Satellite and lnternet based Outreach Programmes, benefitting more than 2,65,000+ participants from 2650+ Indian Universities/ Institutions/User Departments/user Department/ Ministries in India.
  • IIRS delivers these online courses through its indigenous developed online learning platform E-CLASS which is an effort to achieve self-reliance in advance technologies in education under Atmanirbhar Bharat mission of Government of India.
  • There is no course fee. It's absolutely a free of cost programme.
